As Recruitment Coordinator it is my assigned duty (with great honor) to locate all past crewmembers of the USS Kirk DE/FF 1087 and assist them in joining the Kirk Association.
I do this mostly for personal reasons, not to mention the Associaiton. Since the inception of the Association in 2004 in has been my profound pleasure to witness (and be a part of) the reuniting of crewmembers after many years after our departure from the fantail of the Kirk.
To that end I have made it a priority to try and find a pathway to such reunions, either small one on one reunions, or our semi annual events.
So, if you are a former Kirk crewmember please contact me so that I can get you into our loop and assist you in finding your buds from your time aboard.
Sincerely,
James “Bon” Bongaard

I was on Kirk from 1978-1981 as and ET3/2. Then again from 1987-1990? Left her after REFTRA upon completion of overhaul @ Todd shipyard in Seattle.
I was on the Kirk from Oct 76-Mar 80. Would like to get in touch with any one that was on board that Kirk at that time.
Ships crew from 1981-1983. MM2, worked for MMC Bloomfield in A gang and MMC Burback in M division. Went thru overhaul in Yoko, onboard when we crashed the helo and rescued the crew on the Taiwanese freighter. Transferred to USS Cochrane DDg21 in 1983.
Retired as an MMC in 1997, live in Orlando. Graduated University of Central Florida and work for the government.
If you hear from Bloomfield or Petrucci, let me know.
I was a STG2 on board her from 1980 to late 1983 looking for any shipmates in the sonar gang who served aboard her at that time
was station onboard from 89-93 as a ms.
