Thanks Parker for putting this up on the site. Well done.

When you watch the movie, make sure you stay with it to the end. There is a short trailer after the credits that should not be missed.

Enjoy and welcome aboard.
Bon

I have not seen this film yet but would like to screen a DVD copy of it and possibly include it in my curriculum for my Vietnamese language course. Is there an available copy for purchase somewhere?

I recently had the privilege of viewing this film in Washington, DC, at the Washington Historical Society, as part of the Asian Film Festival. Many in attendance were Vietnamese (indeed, perhaps most were), some of whom were on that ship, some as babes in arms or babes in the womb. It was beyond heartwarming to hear them speak of the impact of this event on them & their lives, and to hear of their thankfulness. I think this film is a must see for every American, to witness those times when Americans are at their best — helping others, helping those who cannot help themselves.

Also, this needs a Facebook page, so we can easily let others know about this ship, this crew, this event, and these people.

Having served aboard the USS Kirk 90-91, I revel in the history of my old ship. Thanks for the post.
